Obama has proposed a $1000 “emergency” rebate to Americans to assist with the soaring cost of gasoline and home heating oil.  This is just more political pandering to potential voters and is a complete turnaround from the statements made by Democrats when George W. Bush implemented his economic stimulus package earlier this year.  I guess it’s okay if a Democrat proposes a refund, but it’s completely unacceptable if a Republican does it.  Meanwhile, Congress is going on recess without voting on domestic drilling, so it’s obvious that Democrats don’t care about American energy prices.
